Disassemble and fitting a wheel hub bearing
How to change a wheel hub bearing (Generation 3)
- 1
Remove the wheel.
Be careful with this type of mounting. These bearings are fitted with a magnetic encoder that is sensitive to external magnetic sources.

- 2
Remove the brake caliper and its clevis (use a tool to push back the caliper piston), then remove the brake disc.

- 3
Remove the brake disc.

- 4
Loosen and remove the 3 bolts securing the bearing to the knuckle.

- 5
Remove the bearing.
- 6
Replace the new SNR (Generation 3) wheel bearing.

- 7
Retighten the bearing using the 3 new bolts supplied in the SNR kit.

- 8
Tighten to the correct torque and angle.
- It is essential to use a new nut when tightening to torque and angle. How do I do this?
- The final tightening of the driveshaft nut should be done with the wheel hanging, never with the wheel on the ground as this could destroy the bearing.

- 9
Reassemble the parts in the reverse order of disassembly.

- 10
Replace the wheel.

- 11
Depress the brake pedal several times to bring the brake pads back into contact with the brake disc.
