Removing and fitting a wheel hub bearing
How to change a wheel hub bearing (Generation 2.1) on the vehicle
- 1
Remove the wheel.
Be careful with this type of mounting. These bearings are fitted with magnetic encoders which are sensitive to external magnetic sources.

- 2
Remove the brake calliper and its clevis.

- 3
Remove the brake disc.
- 4
Remove the driveshaft.

- 5
Install special tools.

- 6
Remove the old bearing.

- 7
Reposition the tooling on the new bearing.

- 8
Reinsert the bearing into the knuckle using the tooling.
Once the bearing is installed, you will hear a noise (this is the sound of the retaining ring clipping into the knuckle). This means that the bearing is correctly located.

- 9
Refit the driveshaft. Be careful not to forget to replace the plastic washer.

- 10
Reinstall the lower ball joint.

- 11
Tighten the driveshaft nut to the correct torque and angle.
The final tightening of the driveshaft nut should be done with the wheel hanging, never with the wheel on the ground as this could destroy the bearing.

- 12
Reassemble the parts in the reverse order of disassembly.
